Day 67: From Aogu to Sihu (Yunlin)

April 15, 2012.

This walk was pretty bland compared to many others, but it was kind of interesting as I got my first taste of Yunlin. It is one of Taiwan's poorest counties, and this was evident from the scenes of rural poverty I saw. Still, not quite the Third World. Or rather, no longer so.

The river separating Chiayi from Yunlin.

                      Into Yunlin.

Nice English here but, really, who needs it in this kind of place?

                            Furniture.

                            Birds.

                              Houses by the highway.

Some kind of art project using ...wait for it ....oyster shells!

                             Family biking.

                              Red light, green light.

Big temple, and a watery grave.

                           She's doing it! She's going!

I still don't know why they do that!

Funky organic space in the middle of dreariness.

                            Nets.

                            Water for sale.

Breakfast and a shrine in the back!

                           Ducks.

                         Watch out for cars!
